Jimmie “Chris” Duncan was released on bail a day before Thanksgiving after 27 years on death row at Louisiana's Angola prison. He spent more than three decades wrongfully incarcerated for a crime that never occurred. Mr. Duncan was released on a $150,000 bond, and his vacated conviction is still being reviewed by the Louisiana Supreme Court. “The presumption is not great that he is guilty,” Louisiana District Court judge Alvin Sharp wrote in the bail order.
