JARUS - Joint Authorities for Rulemaking on Unmanned Systems’ Post

The 2nd 2024 JARUS Plenary Meeting in Vienna convened global aviation leaders to advance the harmonization of regulations for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). Key outcomes included: 1. Long standing coordination and collaboration with ICAO on unmanned aviation regulations. 2. Partnerships with the World Food Programme (WFP) to support humanitarian missions. 3. Engagement with EUSPA to enhance safe UAS operations. 4. Approval of Annex H 2.5 and advancements in SORA 3.0. 5. Proposals to align CS-UAS standards with ICAO Annex 8 and updates to AMC RPAS.1309 to address scenarios like high-altitude platform systems (HAPS) and multi-system operations. 6. Developed operational manual guidance for Category B Remote Pilot Certification (RPC) 7. Strategic discussions on the missions and priorities of JARUS in the future. Due to GENDER-NEUTRAL APPROACH which is somehow associated with HUMAN RIGHTS PROTECTION, why not consider using a neutral term, i.e. “unPILOTed” aviation instead of “unMANned” aviation?
