When we first landed in the United States in the summer of 2006, it felt like stepping into a movie set. After nine years of living and working in three different countries, my family and I were excited – and a bit nervous – about what awaited us here. We were eager to experience American culture firsthand, to build a life, and to see what opportunities this new chapter would bring. Fast forward nineteen years, and the U.S. is no longer just the country we moved to – it’s home. We’ve built our lives here. Our kids grew up learning to navigate two cultures seamlessly, and today, they are young professionals who benefited from a great college education in this country. We are proud Americans. Looking back, I feel deeply grateful. This country has given us so much: personal growth, professional opportunities, and the freedom to create the lives we envisioned. I admire the energy, dynamism, and sense of possibility that define the American economy. For people willing to work hard and keep learning, this really is the land of opportunity. As I prepare to celebrate another 4th of July as a U.S. citizen, I am reminded of how far we’ve come and how much this country has given us. 🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July to all of you!
