I'm still beaming with pride after last night's "Block Out Hunger" event, where our Florida Blue team joined forces with the Orlando Magic to distribute 400 Thanksgiving meals to families at the Eatonville Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. It was incredible to see our team, Magic players, and staff come together to make such an impactful and meaningful difference. A special shoutout to Magic Player Jase Richardson and Head Coach Jamahl Mosley for their help in making this event a success! Each meal was a feast, complete with turkey, green beans, corn, gravy, potatoes, dinner rolls, and dessert. But the impact didn't stop there. We also provided boxes of essential and non-perishable food items, courtesy of United Against Poverty Inc., for the families to take home. I'm grateful for our partnership with the Magic, which extends far beyond this event. For every blocked shot they make this season, we donate 10 meals to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. To date, we've donated over 26,000 meals to families in need. As I reflect on this experience, I'm reminded that giving back is at the heart of what we do at Florida Blue. Events like Block Out Hunger inspire us to keep making a positive impact in our community.
