Last night Amanda Coffee interviewed me for The New York Public Library's session about communications and personal branding for entrepreneurs, and it reminded me how much of communication comes down to connection. Here are a few lessons I shared: 💡 Your story is your strategy: Be clear, concise, and conversational about who you are, what you do, and why it matters. 🤖 AI won’t replace you, but someone using it might: Use it to brainstorm and structure ideas, not to replace your own voice. Authenticity always stands out. 📱 Curate your feed: Follow accounts that make you feel good. Mute the ones that don’t. Your digital presence should reflect your values, not just your visibility. 🌈 Build a brand, not just a following: Consistency and community beat viral moments every time. At the end of the day, PR is about people. Be human first, professional second. #Communications #PublicRelations #Entrepreneurship #PersonalBranding #AI
Appreciated your insights, Michael Kaye and Amanda Coffee! And we love a public library collab.
Thank you so much for joining. I’m excited for our IRL session too James Corry
This was such a great session, Michael Kaye & Amanda Coffee!
Wished I had been there. And I love “your story is your strategy”. One thing I always teach my students and share with clients is that repetition is a good thing. You may be bored with your story but it’s new to others. It’s well worth doing the upfront work to make it memorable and remarkable from the start.
