UK and Japan sign MoU for quantum computing collaboration

Strengthening UK–Japan collaboration in Quantum Computing Earlier this month, the National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) and Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance cooperation in quantum computing science and technology. This MoU establishes a framework for long-term collaboration between the UK and Japan – spanning joint research, knowledge exchange, and collaborative activities such as workshops and symposia. Through this agreement, the NQCC and AIST aim to accelerate the development of quantum technologies and drive their real-world applications for social, scientific, and industrial benefits. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected global quantum ecosystem – one that fosters innovation, nurtures talent, and brings the promise of quantum computing closer to reality.
