An added benefit of energy monitoring is identifying issues with hardware before a malfunction occurs. When Your Marketing relies on AI Slop it's probably time to turn off the Autopilot! ✈️🤷♂️ Take this promo piece for PROENERGY, for example. They're repurposing old jet engines (like from a Boeing 747!) as gas turbines for power generation.🛩⚡️ Sounds kind of cool, until you think about it. 🤔 Reality Check: While aeroderivative gas turbines are amazing at full throttle and for fast dispatch, they're loud, they're high maintenance, and they guzzle fuel like it's free, especially when they're not running at max capacity. ♾️ As the saying goes, "Turbine efficiency suffers seriously at part load."📊 I'm no fan of diesel, but for high-power, long-duration applications that might involve significant part-load operation, a modern diesel generator maintains higher overall thermal efficiency in the 30% to 40% range, and critically, its specific fuel consumption is better at varying loads (sometimes down to 35% of full power) than a simple-cycle gas turbine. The AI Slop Telltale: When a company is doing something genuinely complex—like giving a retired jet engine a new life on a skid, but the marketing sounds like someone asked ChatGPT to "make it sound futuristic and disruptive," that's usually a big red flag.❌️ It tells me they're focused on the hype rather than the physics and it makes an otherwise interesting technology sound like vaporware. Engines don't lie. Stick to the thermodynamics, Proenergy!⚡️🔋📈

This sounds like a very wacked-out solution: I thought Small Modular Reactors had solved the problem for good, and the mere fact that there are people considering such wild schemes tells you how SMR are far from being realistically deployed at competitive MWh price points.
