This week, during our recent Board Meeting, members came together to recognize an extraordinary milestone: 50 years of full-time service by Bill Quirk! Bill’s journey with the Park District began at just 14 years old. Over the decades, he has built a remarkable career as a highly skilled, self-taught mechanic, keeping our parks and facilities running smoothly through his ingenuity, perseverance, and care. From bulldozers and garbage trucks to stump grinders and tractors, Bill has restored and maintained the essential equipment that keeps our community moving. Following in his father’s footsteps, Bill continues a proud family legacy, with the Quirk family contributing over 90 years of dedication to Highland Park. Beyond his technical expertise, Bill is known for going above and beyond whether it’s late-night snow plowing or offering help with his trademark positive attitude. We are proud to honor Bill with an official resolution celebrating his 50 years of outstanding service and lasting impact on our community. Please join us in congratulating Bill on this incredible achievement and thanking him for his unwavering commitment to the Park District of Highland Park!
