After my last post on 'Trust Signals', a lot of people reached out asking "how do we track these things in practice?” That's a logical question to ask. PR folks are used to tracking visibility because it’s easy. Tracking credibility feels messy because belief can't be captured in spreadsheets. But it can still be measured. Simply and meaningfully. Here’s a system that’s worked well for founders and teams I’ve advised. It’s called the 'Trust Signal Tracker' — and it’s built for low effort, and high clarity. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 1: Track four simple zones of trust Every strong brand earns credibility across these four areas: 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 → journalists quoting you without being pitched 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 → clients or investors referencing your stories unprompted 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 → employees proudly sharing company updates 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 → organic mentions and positive framing online Tracking these zones gives you the practical trust signals. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 2: Use one shared doc on Notion Forget dashboards. Create one simple table with these columns: Date | Zone | Description | Source | Strength (1–5) | Proof link or screenshot Add 2–3 examples of each zone per week. 15 minutes every week. That’s it. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 3: Review patterns, not counts Don’t ask “how many signals did we get?” Ask “what changed?” - Are we being cited more independently? - Are employees sharing more often? - Is our language showing up in investor decks? Those are the real growth signs. 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 4: Build a quarterly ‘Proof Book’ Every quarter, pick your top 5 trust signals and document: - Where they came from - What triggered them - How to replicate them Over time, this becomes your 'Qualitative ROI — the living evidence of belief'. You don’t need fancy tools to measure credibility. You just need a consistent way to notice it. I am happy to answer more questions on the topic. Shoot away... 👇
Can you show a mock example?
Note: This needs clients' involvement at every step of the way. Hands-off approach does not work in PR.
