Jensen Huang: South Korea's AI Development Capabilities Are Outstanding… Very Optimistic About the Future
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang expressed strong optimism about South Korea's AI development capabilities during the 2025 APEC conference in Gyeongju. He highlighted that Korea possesses all necessary strengths, including technological capability, software expertise, industrialization ability, and infrastructure capacity crucial for AI growth. Huang praised President Lee Jae-myung's visionary leadership and strong government support aimed at establishing Korea as a leading global AI hub.
Huang reflected on NVIDIA’s 30-year relationship with Korea, recognizing the country’s role in the growth of e-sports and the GPU industry. He viewed the evolving partnership as a joint journey toward advancing AI, emphasizing that AI’s requirements—such as energy, land, and factory-building capability—are well supported by Korea’s infrastructure and policies.
On the same day, NVIDIA announced a significant investment plan to supply 260,000 next-generation GPUs, including the Blackwell model, split among the Korean government, Samsung Electronics, SK, Hyundai Motor Group, and Naver Cloud. Huang highlighted Korea’s potential not only to build domestic AI factories but also to serve as an AI hub for Asia, attracting foreign startups and investments. He concluded with a confident outlook on Korea’s AI future, citing its strong AI infrastructure and innovation environment.
