Seems like we're going to hear more news about TNW soon. (And since I've started chronicling the changes in European tech media, I guess I'll keep doing it for now.) By looking at TNW's recent social media posts and hearing things through the grapevine, I gather the publication might not descend into oblivion after all. Over the past week, I saw a few posts appearing on TNW's socials: some cryptic (“What if we add more AI news on TNW? Would you like that?”), some just links to old articles, and one that featured a photo allegedly taken at the Tekpon AI Summit that just happened in Bucharest. So, Tekpon — a software marketplace that's raised $2.4 million since its launch in 2020 — appears to be the most likely acquirer. I've asked the company on LinkedIn whether that's indeed the case, but haven't heard back. The deal might be a "sale for parts" — but it's also possible that Tekpon is interested in entering the (tech) media space. If you know more about it, chime in in the comment section or send me a message! In the meantime, I'm looking forward to reading the official announcement if/when it materialises.
interesting...
That would be good news for the ecosystem
Intriguing!
I’d just like to be allowed to have some copy of my old posts… bunch of dead links on my site right now :( We shall see I guess. And probably not be informed 😭
I’ve not heard of the company though and that’s not such a big raise
Ewwww
Andrii Degeler thanks for chronicling and I heard the same through the grapevine. This is the cryptic message I received on the post announcing the sale of Silicon Canals... Haha
