It was a pleasure to present the outcomes and key takeaways of the 2025 BV Energy Transition Report at the #EnergyTransitionForum in Madrid last week. A big thank you to Bureau Veritas Spain for hosting this flagship event, and to all the speakers and panelists for their invaluable contributions. Key discussion points included: - Despite policy reversals, tariffs, and other challenges this year, renewables continue to break new global records for the 22nd consecutive year. However to triple-up by 2030 and achieve the COP28 pledge, several critical barriers remain and have not improved yet - We are witnessing a two-tier transition, with the Global South, which hosts two-thirds of the world's population, receiving only 15% of clean energy investments and hence driving a pressing need for concerted policy efforts to channel more capital into these regions - Specific market dynamics and challenges of the Spanish Energy Transition were debated, including electricity demand, electrification trends, government policies, supply chains, innovation and AI, economics for storage, and the need to address grid connection issues. Again, a big thank you to all speakers and attendees who made this event possible. Looking forward to continuing the conversation across all stakeholder groups and driving actionable change together! #Energytransition #shapingaworldoftrust #EnergiasRenovables #Bureauveritas
