Came across an old business card today that took me back to a time when the only way to reach me was to dial an 800 number and "beep" me. No cell phones, no video chats, no texting. Despite the challenges, we traveled the world and still found ways to communicate. To all those colleagues who lived through this era, we learned that building relationships was the most important thing for success. #Throwback #CommunicationSkills #RelationshipBuilding
Suzanne ! Blast from the past indeed. You were my wonderful trainer along with Maria Mercante as a college recruit 1994 ! Millie Blust brought me onboard ., great days !!
Wow! Brought me back to running branch and taking all orders on those pink multi carbon copy forms and keeping all our candidates in Acme visible files. Still can't believe though that Mr O mandated that all employees got paid via running payroll checks in office every Friday. When payroll computer went down on a Friday morning, I was beeping HQ looking for HELP!!!
From beeper to a cell phone that was in a bag and to use it averaged $3,300.00 a month for me. Ironically I started with Verizon back then (around’97) and am still with them.
Suzanne, I LOVE you found this and shared! What a time. What a privilege it was for me to work at Olsten back then. The opportunities - the women/community in leadership. The hours lost on the road reading maps and then Mapquest🤦♀️🥰
That sure does take me back to a different time and way of doing things. Wonderful group of colleagues and leaders working together to help clients and associates. Thank you Suzanne for the memory and all you did to support our development.
Suzanne, you brought back memories of a much simpler time. I can remember when I thought I was living large when I could receive short messages on my fancy hi tech beeper!
Wow! I started my career with Olsten in Evansville, Indiana after graduating college. No computers, candidate profiles were kept in recipe boxes and taking job “orders” on paper intake forms :) The training was so good. Great company!
Great memories of the Olsten days! I, too, remember the check printing in the office and the employees coming in to sign and pick up.

1yI LOVE Finding these things in boxes. I once found a literal rolodex of contacts for a job I had in my early career. Times have changed soooo Much! Hope you are well Suzanne Kinkel (She/Her)!
