I just witnessed a post in which someone highlighted a recent interview question they were given: "Is Zero Trust a product or a framework?" The typical answer would be a framework, right? However, I'd actually challenge that and say it's not a framework, but should be a mindset that bleeds into the very culture of an organization which includes its framework. Professional skepticism must go beyond typical network segmentation and configuration efforts but be built into the very fabric of our daily operations and decision-making procedures which can only be executed effectively if the tonality of senior management recognizes its importance. Why? Because this multifaceted approach will strengthen key core elements of the future of organizations and not just the framework. We're talking about social engineering intelligence, vendor vetting, supple chain risk management, you name it. So, the reason why there are such poor implementations of Zero Trust is because we diminish its true value down to a simple framework that we just set up one time, "monitor", and respond to when needed rather than capturing its fullest potential. #Resilience #ZeroTrust #CyberSecurity #SecurityCulture #Leadership #RiskManagement #SupplyChainSecurity #DigitalTrust
