True Environmental’s Post

Happy GIS Day! Today we celebrate the power of spatial thinking and the impact GIS technology has on communities. We’re excited to spotlight the incredible work by Matrix New World Engineering with Yavapai County on a project addressing an important public health and environmental challenge. Matrix developed a GIS-based model to estimate where existing or abandoned cesspools may be located. By integrating parcel data, septic and sewer records, and spatial layers from multiple jurisdictions, their approach helps the County move from guesswork to data-driven action—prioritizing inspections, upgrades, and public outreach where it matters most. This project is a perfect example of what GIS Day represents: turning data into insight and insight into impact. For Yavapai County, that means protecting water quality, improving public health, and managing environmental resources more efficiently. We applaud Matrix for this collaborative effort and their commitment to using location intelligence to solve complex challenges. On GIS Day, we celebrate the people and technology that transform spatial data into meaningful solutions. At True, we’re inspired by innovations like this and remain committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology to drive smarter decisions and sustainable outcomes. The future is data-driven—and we’re ready to lead the way.
