World Business Chicago’s Post

Last week, World Business Chicago President & CEO Phil Clement joined Cook County Commissioners where he gave remarks on the importance of regional economic collaboration in light of the County's newly approved $10.12 billion balanced budget. Notably, Cook County was ranked the 3rd top county in the nation based on total projects, capital investment, and jobs created between January 2024 and March 2025. This ranking was achieved through a collaborative approach to economic development — one that prioritizes communication among our Chicagoland counties to strengthen the region, instead of competing against one another — a strategy made possible by The Greater Chicagoland Economic Partnership (GCEP). World Business Chicago congratulates Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and the entire Cook County Board and staff for passing this balanced budget, and looks forward to continued economic collaboration for the entire Chicagoland region.
