Local businesses don't just drive economies; they develop a sense of community. We are here to ensure rural America thrives.
Infrastructure plays a pivotal role to that success. By investing in essential services such as healthcare clinics, housing, and water systems, we are taking critical steps to improve the well-being of all rural Americans.
We also know that change can be daunting. Our commitment to serving rural America remains unwavering. We want you to feel confident knowing that your local USDA Rural Development offices are fully operational and dedicated to assisting you. Risk Management Specialist at USDA
2moGood afternoon, I’ve been working at the Raleigh Regional Offices as an RMA Specialist, I’ve decided to retire after 22 years of Federal Service at the end of April. I was raised on a farm in Up-State New York. After serving in the US Air Force, I attended college at North Dakota State University (Go BISON!). Prior to my federal career, I assisted farmers and ranchers as a Veteran, a High School Vo-Ag teacher, a Cargill Seed Salesman, an Agriculture Business Owner, a Farm Management Coordinator, and a Cooperative Extension Educator. I began my Federal career with FSA in the Wisconsin State Office working Outreach, and was later offered a position with RMA at the Topeka Regional Office working Large Claims, Risk Management Education and other duties. He then moved to the Raleigh RO to continue similar duties. During the last 4 years I have worked extensively with the Beginning Farmers and Ranchers/Veteran Teams in the Raleigh Region, and I will miss working in that role as well as all the BFR/Veterans teams in the Region. I currently reside in Falling Waters, WV, and plan to continue to work with fellow Veterans and Farmers. I can be reached at 785-783-8611 or billferris@live.com
