Welcome back to the Changemaker series! In this episode, we are thrilled to introduce our special guest, Sebastian Kavoji, an ICT Specialist at the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Sebastian shares his inspiring journey of resilience, reinvention, and the power of technology to change lives. Growing up in Kenya, Sebastian experienced firsthand the challenges of migration. His family moved frequently in search of better opportunities, navigating the complexities of both rural and urban life. These early experiences shaped his understanding of the world and instilled in him a desire to create change rooted in equity and opportunity for all.

IOM is the UN’s leading agency on migration, committed to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. IOM works to ensure the well-being and dignity of migrants, providing essential services and support to migrants, internally displaced people, and refugees worldwide. This mission aligns perfectly with the innovative work that Sebastian is doing at IOM.

One of Sebastian’s notable projects is the development of an AI agent called MigCare, which assists migrants with medical health assessments. He is excited about the potential of AI-powered solutions to break down language barriers and provide personalized support to migrants.
