Article content

AI Trends Rewiring the Energy Industry

  • Kongsberg Digital explored how AI, workforce transformation, and regulatory complexity are shaping the energy sector. The company highlighted the need to close the gap between advanced technologies and the skills required to use them. It also emphasised the role of AI in grid management, the importance of transparent sustainability reporting, and the value of integrating user training with technology deployment through its Digital Performance Model.

Shared Insights on Data and AI in Oil & Gas

  • At Data Driven Oil & Gas 2025, Kongsberg Digital’s Miguel Valdez highlighted how digital twins, AI, and contextualised data are helping the industry overcome operational silos, reduce risk, and support decarbonisation. He pointed to real-time data, predictive maintenance, and AI-driven workflows as critical tools reshaping the sector. In a panel titled “AI: Fact vs Fiction”, Valdez emphasised the importance of focusing on practical use cases and clear business outcomes, not hype.

Kognitwin Grid Enables Smarter Loss Management for Utilities

  • Highlighted how Kognitwin Grid helps utilities manage grid losses more effectively by moving from delayed reporting to proactive, data-driven operations. By forecasting consumption, running daily power flow simulations, and visualising losses across components, Kognitwin Grid gives operators the tools to identify and reduce losses in real time. This supports both cost efficiency and decarbonisation goals, making loss management a core part of daily grid operations.

Extreme Weather Alerts for Proactive Grid Management

  • Added Extreme Weather Alerts to Kognitwin Grid, helping operators prepare for and respond to severe weather conditions affecting the power grid. This new feature enables operational planners and maintenance teams to visualise weather events, simulate their impact, and take preventive action. By converting weather forecasts into actionable insights, Kognitwin Grid supports a more proactive approach to safeguarding grid stability and protecting critical infrastructure.
