New ways to grow, prove, and stay informed on LinkedIn

This month, it’s all about proof, progress, and possibility. From verified language scores that add credibility to your profile, to a playlist-powered Premium experience designed to fuel your focus—LinkedIn is helping professionals show what they know, grow their skills, and stay ahead. We’re also looking at the rise of green jobs and what it means for the future of work, plus a new way to stay connected to your network in real time with the LinkedIn widget. Whether you’re building your career, your credibility, or your community, here’s what’s new and worth knowing.

LinkedIn + Duolingo: Bringing credible language proof to your profile

In a market where anyone can say they have skills, only some can document them. LinkedIn and Duolingo are partnering to let members add a verified Duolingo Score to their profiles. Instead of buzzwords or inflated claims, the score provides a measurable signal of language ability and language skills are career skills.

By bringing credible language scores onto LinkedIn profiles, the partnership gives job seekers a proof point that can strengthen professional identity and help them stand out to recruiters and hiring managers. In a sea of résumés, the profiles that rise are the ones that show the work not the ones that stretch the truth.

Green hiring is on the rise, but there’s a skills gap

The green workforce is growing in 2025, but not nearly fast enough to keep up with demand. Global green hiring is increasing at twice the pace of skills growth in the workforce (8% vs. 4% year over year) for a second consecutive year.

In this tight labor market, professionals with green skills have a clear advantage. They are being hired into roles at a rate 47% higher than the general workforce, as leaders prioritize adaptability, resilience and the ability to drive sustainable growth.

Green capabilities are no longer niche or “nice to have”, they are becoming core business skills. Half of all green talent hired this year is moving into roles that have not historically required green expertise, signaling a fundamental shift in how companies think about value creation and competitiveness.

LinkedIn’s MD EMEA & LATM Sue Duke sat down yesterday with European Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth Wopke Hoekstra for a conversation on how investing in green skills can power clean economic growth. Watch the discussion to hear key insights on how leaders and workers can stay ahead in the race for green talent.

Doubling down on distributed systems and real-time data engineering. Green skills are trending, but the market premium is on professionals who can architect fault-tolerant, low-latency infrastructure at scale. Verified badges are nice, shipping production systems that handle millions of transactions is better. Focus on skills that compound, not credentials that expire.
