Purposeful Leadership?

Good stuff Andy. Always amazes me how leaders make decisions and set strategy without really spending any time to interact at the coal face so they truly understand the day-to-day frustrations preventing their people from doing a good job (often created by the systems and processes they are merrily "transforming"). No wonder teams disengage from the organisation's vision & purpose. Compounds the difficulties arising from increased remote working and reinforces the need for leaders to make time to get out to their front line teams (virtually works too). Keep the production cycle up.

Great book reference the leadership journey and start with why (my favorite journal) Thanks for the emphasis on self-awareness, CSR, vision and listening to your employees. Thanks for sharing Andy, some really important and simple insights for leaders to consider. As you know, I try and live my life with purpose in mind. The why we do what we do is such an important driver to making a positive contribution to work, life, family and society. And I think that covid has raised this to the forefront of many people and businesses thoughts and will influence how society and business move forward over the coming months and years. As your video points out, leadership should be founded on purpose (the WHY) in enabling the best from people who in turn contribute great and sustainable outcomes for business and society
