Q2 2025 Edition
Over 1000 stores, 2 million online transactions, and more than 16 million people relying on us for their shopping, healthcare and more every week – we’ve got a lot of everything going on here at Asda. And that’s a lot to keep up with! So The Everything Edit is here to give you a monthly inside look into everything we’ve been up to, from top stories and updates from our stores to careers highlights.
We updated on our Q1 2025 performance. And we’re making great progress towards becoming the UK’s best value full-service supermarket!
A few highlights from the start of the year include:
⬇️ Over 10,000 products moved to a new low Asda Price.
🛒 Established a 3% - 6% price gap over traditional full-service supermarkets.
🙂 Product availability increased from 90% to 95% since January, while customer satisfaction also improved.
📈 George & Asda Express delivered strong growth, outperforming the market.
💚 £80 million investment in colleague pay and benefits.
🏆 And winning the double Grocer 33 – twice!
Our customers are already seeing the difference – both in their pockets and in our stores. And that’s only the beginning of everything we’re going to do to improve our stores and our offering.

That’s 60 years of offering great value to hard-working families 🎉 . So we celebrated our big birthday bonanza with customers and colleagues in some big ways:
And we have a whole host of initiatives to follow, so watch this space for more 60th celebrations! 💚
This VE Day marked 80 years since the end of World War II. And we joined the nation in paying our respects to those who have made sacrifices for our country.
📻 At 9.30pm on the 8th May, Asda Radio played I Vow to Thee, My Country in over 500 of our stores – just as Beacons and Lamp Lights of Peace were lit in a national moment of reflection.
🟢 Funding from the Asda Foundation will help mark the occasion, providing funding to grassroot community and veteran groups to hold celebratory events.
🎉 Our Community Champions put on and supported events in stores and their communities across the UK, as they help to celebrate and pay tribute.

In May & June, we picked up two clean sweeps as part of The Grocer 33, winning both store of the week and price on two occasions!
A big congratulations to Tracey Peddie and the team at our Sheerwater store in Woking, who topped The Grocer 33 for service! The store was praised for being well-stocked, offering plenty of promotions, and for the helpful colleagues who made the mystery shopper's experience even better.
“I was chuffed to bits when Rollback came back. It’s that uniqueness that Asda is known for. Rollback has brought identity back to the stores, turned them green, and customers understand what the message is.” - Tracey Peddie
More recently, our Asda Lincoln North Hykeham Superstore scored an impressive 81 points to win last week's Grocer 33 store of the week.
Incredible work from David Bowns and our colleagues at North Hykeham! The mystery shopper called out their "friendly, polite, and helpful" service. They really showcased what we’re about here at Asda.
Alongside both wins for service, we also secured multiple wins in The Grocer 33 Price Comparison - bringing us to a total of 22 wins for the year! That really shows how Rollback is delivering outstanding value to our customers.
That’s a bit of everything we’re so proud to offer – and more!
Interested in a Buying career at Asda? Let’s go behind the scenes with Gemma Lightbody , our new Business Unit Director in Impulse Grocery.
“My favourite part of being Business Unit Director is leading a team to deliver a winning strategy, seeing them succeed as a team and grow as individuals. I believe in Asda, my FMCG career started at Asda, I know the DNA of the business, and I wanted to be part of the team to deliver change and delight customers. The energy and pace of the business will deliver results. And being part of a commercial team that’s on route to disrupt the UK Grocery Market, delivering choice and value, is a team that driven and passionate buyers should want to be part of. Opportunities to make such a difference don't come around very often."

June marks the start of Pride. And, as ever, we're incredibly proud of our long-standing commitment to supporting Pride and our LGBTQ+ colleagues and customers. Here at Asda, we give every colleague the chance and space to celebrate the diverse contributions the LGBTQ+ community have made, and continues to make, to our culture.
Whether that’s through attending events in local communities (like our Asda Halesowen colleagues recently), wearing items from our George Pride range, or learning more about the importance of allyship, we're committed to building an inclusive and diverse workplace. One where colleagues are happy and confident being themselves. All year round.
With the scale of everything that goes on here at Asda, that’s just a snippet of all the great stuff we’ve been up to this month. So if you want to keep up with us, subscribe to The Everything Edit to get the latest updates straight to your inbox next month!
Congrats! 🎉
Well done!
