ve2ventures Invests in AI-Powered Football Tech Start-up FLY-FUT

Amsterdam, 8 May 2025 – Dutch venture studio ve2ventures announces a strategic investment in Spanish sports technology company FlyFut – a pioneer in autonomous, AI-driven football analytics.

FLY-FUT , the first AI-powered football analytics platform that works without GPS or wearables, welcomes new Dutch growth partner ve2ventures to accelerate international expansion, with backing from none other than Iker Casillas.

FlyFut is the first and only platform in professional football that operates entirely without GPS trackers or wearables. Using only video footage and artificial intelligence, FlyFut provides coaches, analysts, and players with real-time, visual insights into positioning, patterns, and tactical movement – instantly and effortlessly.

Global Impact

FlyFut currently serves 20% of all clubs in La Liga and La Liga Hypermotion, including a 7-year collaboration with Atlético Madrid across 24 different divisions.

In 2024, the platform reached active service in 22 countries, securing partnerships with top-tier clubs such as River Plate (Argentina) and the Medellín Academy (Colombia). FlyFut also played a supporting role in Real Valladolid’s promotion to La Liga and contributed to championship-winning teams such as Municipal (Guatemala) and Liga Deportiva Alajuelense (Costa Rica, U14/U17/U19).

The Future of Football Is in the Air

FlyFut represents a fundamental shift in how on-field data is captured. While traditional systems rely on vests, trackers and manual tagging, FlyFut uses overhead video and self-learning algorithms to automatically identify players, track movements and generate visual insights.

This breakthrough approach caught the attention of World Cup champion and Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas, who was one of the earliest investors to support the project.

“FlyFut is one of the best video analysis tools in the world, and SportBoost is proud to be part of the group of investors supporting it. The latest version of their software is a differentiator in video analysis.” Casillas ads.

Why ve2ventures Is Getting Involved

According to ve2ventures CEO David Dwinger, the partnership with FlyFut is about more than just innovative technology:

“What attracted us was not only the product, but the founder himself. Luis Llagostera Herrera is a rare breed – a visionary with the ability to execute. His radically different approach is exactly why FlyFut is gaining ground globally at such a rapid pace.”

With the support of ve2, FlyFut will focus on continued international expansion and product development, strengthened by the creative and technical expertise of the ve2 agency team.
