Women of CyberArk: Adibah Shah

Women of CyberArk: Adibah Shah

Two inspirations shaped Adibah S. ’s professional journey: her parents and her love for movies.

“When I was younger, I wasn’t sure what career path I wanted to pursue,” shared Adibah. “My parents saw the tech industry was growing and encouraged me to explore it. Around the same time, I was watching a lot of computer hacker-themed movies. I loved the thrill of solving puzzles and mastering complex technology, and it sparked my curiosity.”

This curiosity led Adibah to pursue a diploma in Cyber & Digital Security. “That decision opened a whole new world for me,” she said. “I learned so much about cybersecurity; how powerful and fast-moving it is.” While working towards her diploma, Adibah also worked as a pre-sales intern at a cybersecurity company, supporting the sales teams. Her internship converted to a full-time position, which she held for three years – until a former manager now working at CyberArk called with a new opportunity.

“He reached out to me about a customer support role at CyberArk,” said Adibah. “It was a completely different area of cybersecurity for me, but I wanted to push myself to try something new. So, I went for it!”

Adibah joined CyberArk in 2019 and is based in Singapore. In her current role as Program Manager, Customer Support, she oversees two key portfolios within CyberArk’s global support organization: developing the expertise of customer support engineers through training initiatives and building quality management programs to elevate the standard of customer interactions. “What I love most about CyberArk is the people,” said Adibah. “I'm always inspired by the collaborations I’m part of – the shared curiosity and the collective drive to achieve a common goal.”

“Adibah is a great team member because she’s a true collaborator and a hard worker,” shared Adam Ibrahim , Manager, Global Outsourcing & Partner Support. “Her analytical strength and dedication consistently elevate the quality of her work and uplifts those around her.”

As someone who regularly pursues new opportunities and challenges, Adibah values her team’s encouragement to explore projects outside of her role. “Since joining CyberArk, I've been able to shape impactful programs from the ground up, with full support and trust from my leadership team,” she shared. She is especially proud of her work with CyberArk Singapore's Customer Support internship program, which launched in 2023.

“I had always wanted to explore a management role, so when my manager recommended me as the internship program leader, I went for it,” Adibah said. “I’m so grateful for that golden opportunity, because it taught me a lot about leadership and teamwork.” Her guidance made an impact. Today, a former intern is a full-time employee, and the Customer Support internship program continues to thrive.

“Adibah puts her heart and soul into every project,” said Adam. “She never hesitates to take on challenging or cross-functional work, and she’s always ready to support colleagues across regions.”

Embracing family – and retro technology

Family is important to Adibah; she attributes her ambition to her mother, whose resilience and strength inspire her to conquer her fear of the unknown. “My mother never had the chance to pursue higher education, but she has an unshakable belief in the power of learning and adaptation,” shared Adibah. “Her influence gives me the courage to break into unfamiliar spaces, including tech and cybersecurity.”

When she’s not working, you can find Adibah taking a peaceful neighborhood stroll or trying a new restaurant with her husband. “Because my work is so fast-paced, I try to find joy in simplicity, routine, and spending quality time with my family. Those moments help me recharge, reset, and stay grounded,” said Adibah.

Adibah also recharges by embracing her love for old-school retro technology, from film cameras to vinyl records and cassette players. “I purchased a bunch of cassette players on a recent trip to Japan,” she said. “There’s something nostalgic and grounding about using these kinds of analog devices in a digital world. I find joy in the imperfections of retro tech and the history they represent.”

Entering a new industry, and accepting a leadership role, takes confidence. For those just beginning their cybersecurity career, Adibah’s advice is to “give yourself grace. Cybersecurity is a vast industry, and there are many avenues to explore. Every experience, even a challenging one, is an opportunity to ask questions and grow. Remember that you don't have to have it all figured out at the beginning. It’s more important to be curious and willing to learn.”
