  • Dee Mphafi Tanka was just 18 when she tested positive for HIV in Lesotho. Today, she’s a mother to an HIV-free daughter and a passionate advocate for young women living with HIV, thanks to the support of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF). Stories like Dee’s drive us to act and today on #WorldAIDSDay, we stand with every child and family fighting for a future free of HIV. Through Microsoft’s Hack4Good program, we partnered with EGPAF to build glAIser, an Azure AI-powered assistant that turns billions of data points into life-saving insights. It helps clinicians predict treatment lapses, allocate resources faster, and ultimately save lives. Read the full story below!

  • At the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit in Melbourne, we explored how AI is reshaping cancer care.   What we heard weren’t technology stories; they were stories centered around people. Stories that remind us: when innovation is grounded in dignity, equity, and the intimate needs of patients, it changes what’s possible.   We had the privilege of sharing the stage with incredible leaders from Cancer Council Victoria, Cancer Council NSW, and Children’s Cancer Institute Australia, Mike Osborne, Dr Kirstie McLoughlin and Mark Cowley, to discuss how AI is driving innovation, from decoding childhood cancer genomes to accelerating research productivity, powering prevention campaigns, and supporting patients in their communities. Moderated by Jill Nikolaisen Tennant, the conversation was honest, inspiring, and full of hope.   From building trusted data foundations and tackling bias in medical datasets, to scaling solutions that deliver personalised care and prevention globally, one theme stood out: Together, we can harness technology to empower people, improve outcomes, and strengthen collaboration—always with people at the centre. Our panellists shared powerful visions:   ✅ AI as an enabler, freeing clinicians to focus on what matters most—patients. ✅ AI as a tool for equity, bridging gaps in access and health literacy. ✅ AI as a catalyst for breakthroughs, from early detection to personalised treatment.    Thank you to the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) for organizing such an insightful event, and to everyone who joined us. #WCLS2025

  • Helping to drive Climate Action with Data and AI. Through our partnership, we’re helping UN Climate Change close the gap to 1.5°C by turning insight into impact. At COP30, UN Climate Change has launched the Climate Data Hub—a modern, AI-powered platform designed to unify and simplify climate data, enabling national leaders and policymakers to review their countries’ progress toward implementation of the Paris Agreement. Built in collaboration with Microsoft and EY, the Climate Data Hub transforms how climate data is managed, analyzed, reviewed, and published, making it easier for countries to connect global commitments to local action. This is more than technology; it’s about enabling trust, transparency, and collaboration to scale climate innovation. AI is proving to be a force multiplier in this journey. 📽 Watch the video to see how the Climate Data Hub works and why it matters for global climate action in the article below.
