As we close out 2023 I wanted to add 3 more bold AI/LLM predictions that I believe we'll start to see in 2024. To better explain why I think AI/LLMs will help fuel this shift, I wanted to add some context before sharing my predictions. First, AI/LLMs in healthcare will need to be divided into two separate categories; 1. Operational GenAI - which is used to manage the non-clinical aspects of distributing and delivering care services to patients 2. Clinical GenAI - which is AI or LLMs that are used to directly treat and mange care services to patients It’s important to understand that these two things are entirely different and that #2 will only take off once #1 is achieved. So here's my prediction reasoning; The availability, accessibility, and affordability of AI/LLMs will massively reduce the technical knowledge base that was traditionally required for developing SaaS products. Now that the infrastructure and application layers have been separated those who have the professional domain knowledge and expertise (e.g., physicians) will be able to create AI/LLM applications cheaper, better, and faster then non-clinical founders that may or may not be technical. Now the predictions: 1. Because of this shift more physicians and clinicians will become builders creating AI point solution applications for either Operational or Clinical services. The initial use case would be to build for in-house purposes, however, this will quickly transition to sharing of AI products to selling of AI products. 2. Thus a new market will be created providing an environment for physicians and clinicians to sell point solutions to other physicians and clinicians. Basically an digital health AppStore 2.0 for clinicians by clinicians. 3. Leading to a new era of clinical technology where AI assistants and or agents will become part of the operational + care teams. Providing clinicians and patients with clinical and operational value immediately by eliminating fragmented SaaS point solutions which only increased costs and made it difficult to access new technology. AI-agents will help level the playing field for millions of physicians and clinicians and we’re excited about powering this future. What are your thoughts? What could you build if you had your own AI-agent that was always on, always available to your and your patients? ---- Hi, I'm Dr. Mario Amaro, Founder and CEO Ease and I talk about all things starting, running, and growing a private practice with AI.
