AJC is proud to be shaping the transformation of Parramatta’s southern gateway — formerly Auto Alley — into a vibrant mixed-use precinct that comes alive both day and night. Recent planning amendments will see: • Taller towers of up to 42 storeys, delivering more than 920 new homes • A dedicated community and cultural hub, including Parramatta Artists’ Studios • New public parkland to connect residents and visitors • A reimagined 288-room hotel with meeting and event facilities • Larger, flexible apartments designed for modern living and working This is more than new buildings. It is about creating new nights in Parramatta. From cultural spaces and hospitality venues to family homes and 24/7 activation, South Quarter is set to redefine how people live, work, and socialise in Sydney’s second CBD. We are excited to see Parramatta evolve into a truly connected, world-class destination — and proud to be part of the vision. We’re excited to highlight our design role in the recently fast-tracked MacPark towers project—an ambitious collaboration between Billbergia Group and Legacy Property. Positioned at 15–21 Cottonwood Crescent, Macquarie Park, the proposal has scaled significantly—from an initial 255-unit proposal (in two towers of 21 and 19 storeys) up to an impressive 870 units across twin 60-storey towers—if the amended scheme is approved through the State Significant Development (SSD) pathway. Our design ambition has always been to harmonise high-density living with a strong sense of place. At 88 Waterloo Road, AJC Architects crafted a bioclimatic, sustainable vision—integrating expansive communal greenspace, solar PV, energy-efficient systems, and walkable connections that maximise daylight, natural ventilation, and views of adjacent parks. These twin-tower plans, now fast-tracked by NSW’s Housing Delivery Authority, align with the broader goal of dramatically increasing housing supply through meaningful design in key growth corridors. Congratulations to our partners at Billbergia, Legacy Property, and the NSW planning authorities for accelerating this landmark project. At AJC, we’re proud to contribute design excellence to Macquarie Park’s evolving skyline—creating vibrant, sustainable, and well-connected homes in one of Sydney’s most dynamic precincts. It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Russell Callam Jack, one of the founding partners of Allen Jack + Cottier Architects, now AJC Architects. Russell passed away peacefully on Friday 15th August 2025, aged 100. Russell’s vision and expertise were foundational to AJC’s establishment and growth. A contemporary of John Allen, he went on to win the Byera Hadley Travelling Scholarship, work in London with Tripe & Wakeham, and in 1958 was awarded the RAIA Sir John Sulman Medal for his own house in Wahroonga. In 1976, Russell retired from practice to join the UNSW Faculty of Architecture full-time as Senior Lecturer in final-year design, later gaining his M.Arch and continuing as a visiting professor until 1990. His influence on Sydney’s built environment and on generations of architects is profound and enduring. Even in his later years, Russell remained closely connected to AJC. On his 100th birthday, he sent us this note after hearing our cheers from the studio: "I can’t believe I’ve got to the first 100!!" Russell’s legacy will continue to inspire us. The funeral will be private, and we respect the family’s decision on this matter. Later this year, we will host an event to honour his immense contribution to architecture and celebrate his life. Our heartfelt condolences go to Russell’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege to work with him. #Architecture #Architects #DesignLegacy #SydneyArchitecture #AustralianArchitecture #ArchitectureCommunity #AllenJackCottier #PracticeLegacy

Science Week is a reminder of the importance of spaces like Abbottleigh School’s Centre for Science & Art — thoughtfully designed to nurture practical science learning and creative expression in an environment connected to nature. The Centre features two organically shaped wings: a science wing with functional labs and exposed materials that foster inquiry, and an art wing filled with natural light to inspire creativity. Nestled between remnant blue gum forest and heritage houses, the building gently integrates with its surroundings, offering students a unique and immersive learning environment. We’re proud to contribute to spaces that support student curiosity and growth. #ScienceWeek #EducationalDesign #LearningSpaces #AbbottleighSchool #AJCDesign

AJC is proud to mark the topping out and brand launch of Epiisod Lachlan Avenue — a 732-bed, 15-storey student accommodation project in Macquarie Park, opening early 2026. Designed with student wellbeing at its heart, Epiisod blends a sophisticated residential feel with inspiration drawn from local geology and native flora. The three-wing form reduces visual bulk, while rooftop terraces and double-height common areas promote community and connection. Internally, the building is future-ready, with smart technology integrated throughout to support a seamless student living experience.
