  • Liverpool Council is teaming up with Clean Up Australia for this year’s Great Spring Cleanup! To mark the Great Spring Clean Up this September and World Clean Up Day, we’re hosting our very own Clean Up Liverpool Day!   • The Liverpool community is saddened by the sudden passing of Andy Snook, a dedicated and extraordinary contributor to the welfare of animals. Andy was widely recognised for his tireless efforts in pet rescue, reuniting lost animals with their families, rescuing pets from the streets, and providing support to the community at all hours. Through his selfless work, countless pets in Liverpool have been reunited with loved ones. His commitment, patience, and selfless dedication to the lost-and-found pet community has left a lasting legacy of hundreds of grateful people. In 2022, Liverpool City Council honoured Andy with an Order of Liverpool Award in recognition of his outstanding service.   • We’re proud to celebrate Silvana Lofaro from Hoxton Park Public School, who has been recognised at the NSW School Support Staff Awards 2025, winning in the category of Impact on the Community. Silvana is one of only four winners in this category, chosen from over 400 nominees and 40 finalists across NSW. Through her role as Community Hub Leader and Community Liaison Officer, she has made a lasting difference to families and the wider school community, helping connect them to services and support. Liverpool City Council proudly supports three Community Hubs within local primary schools (Hoxton Park, Austral and Heckenberg Public), helping create stronger, more connected communities, including families of diverse cultural backgrounds. The students were warmly welcomed by the Premier of NSW, Chris Minns MP and Member for Liverpool, Charishma Kaliyanda MP, giving our young leaders a chance to share their voices in the very place where decisions that shape our state are made. In total, 48 students, accompanied by their teachers and Council staff, proudly represented our community within NSW Parliament House, the very place where decisions shaping our state are made.   • Council is honoured to submit its nomination for the prestigious A.R. Bluett Memorial Award, the highest honour in NSW local government recognising the most progressive Council in the state.
