⚙️Tackling Emissions and Hazardous Materials ⚙️ ⚠️Blasting dust, VOCs, heavy metals, wastewater pollutants – shipyards face a storm of hazardous emissions and environmental risks. Managing them is costly, complex, and often leads to non-compliance penalties. 💡ESY brings innovation to the frontline of sustainability. With **eco-friendly coatings**, **advanced waste treatment**, and **real-time compliance tools**, ESY is reducing emissions and improving workplace safety while significantly cutting non-compliance costs and environmental risks. 🌱Cleaner operations don’t just protect the planet – they protect people and profitability too. ESY is setting new benchmarks for how shipyards meet and exceed environmental standards. 📢And this is just the next step! Stay tuned for the next #WhyItMatters spotlight, where we’ll dive into how ESY is empowering the workforce for a green transition — another critical piece of the sustainable shipyard puzzle. 🔄Building a Circular Future for Shipbuilding🔄 🚢 The future of shipbuilding will be defined not by how we build ships — but by how we reuse them. Circularity is no longer optional; it’s essential. And ESY is leading the way. ♻️Every year, Europe dismantles ships producing between 1.3 and 2.1 million LDT of scrap – yet too much of it still ends up as waste. Limited material traceability and a traditional “build–use–dispose” mindset have held shipbuilding back from realising its full sustainability potential. 💡ESY is changing that. With the EU Material Passport, a pioneering tool that tracks materials across a ship’s entire lifecycle, ESY unlocks the power of circularity. By enabling 70–85% of non-hazardous ship materials to be reused or recycled by 2030, it paves the way for a closed-loop shipbuilding ecosystem — where nothing is wasted and every component contributes to long-term value. 🚀The future of shipbuilding is not linear — it’s circular. ESY is helping the maritime industry rethink its foundations, driving Europe closer to a resilient and resource-efficient future. 📢And this is just the next step! Stay tuned for next week’s #WhyItMatters spotlight, where we’ll dive into how ESY is tackling emissions and hazardous materials — another critical piece of the sustainable shipyard puzzle. 💡 🚢 Did you know that shipyards – the beating heart of maritime innovation – are also significant contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, hazardous waste, and pollution? From shipbuilding to repair and dismantling, these energy-intensive operations have long lacked the tools needed to measure and reduce their environmental impact. 🚀 That’s where ESY steps in. Through cutting-edge digital twins and advanced KPI frameworks, ESY enables real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance, drastically reducing emissions, waste, and energy use. The project is dedicated to significantly enhancing environmental performance and accelerating compliance with the #EU’s ambitious #FitFor55 climate targets. 🌊 ESY is not just transforming shipyards; it’s reshaping the future of the maritime industry towards a more sustainable and environmentally responsible era. 📢 💥 This is just one part of the story.
