Goldwind GWH182 Turbines Successfully Pass Rigorous Artificial Short-Circuit Test In a significant demonstration of grid resilience, all 32 GWH182 medium-speed permanent magnet（MSPM） wind turbines successfully passed an artificial short-circuit test conducted on November 5, 2025, at a Wind Farm Collecting Station in northwest China. Organized by the Electric Power Research Institute, the test simulated severe three-phase short-circuit faults to evaluate the turbines’ fault ride-through capability and transient response under extreme grid conditions. Throughout two independent tests, the GWH182 units remained fully connected to the grid without any tripping or failure. Key technical achievements include stable operation during voltage dips, effective reactive power support, and seamless coordination with grid protection systems. Pre-test preparations involved RTDS simulations and thorough on-site inspections to ensure control system alignment and data accuracy. This achievement underscores the capability of Goldwind’s MSPM technology to ensure reliability and grid stability in challenging high-renewable environments. We are proud to share a series of major milestones that reflect our deep commitment to local partnerships and technological innovation across the region. 🚀 In Brazil: A New Era of “Made in Bahia” The very first turbine produced at our Goldwind factory in Camaçari, Bahia, has been successfully installed! This first of 17 locally assembled GWH182-6.2MW units will power the Paraíso Farol and Pedra de Amolar wind farms, in partnership with SPIC Brasil. This landmark achievement marks a significant step forward in localizing renewable energy equipment production and building a complete, sustainable supply chain.   🚀 In Chile: Innovative Adaptation to Complex Terrain. The Chequenes Wind Farm project of ENGIE Chile has successfully erected its first turbine. Featuring the debut of Goldwind MSPM platform in Chile, the project will utilize 22 units of the GWH182-7.5MW model. To overcome strict transport limits in southern Chile, we pioneered a segmented tower design.   🚀 In Chile: Proven Reliability in the World’s Driest Desert The first turbine is now installed at the Pampa Fidelia wind farm, another key collaboration with ENGIE, located in the Atacama Desert. Using 51 units of the GW165-6.0MW turbines, this project demonstrates the exceptional resilience and performance of our technology in one of the planet’s most extreme environments. These successes in Brazil and Chile are more than just project milestones—they are a testament to our strategy of empowering local markets through tailored technology and localized manufacturing.
