The Cyprus Institute of Neurology & Genetics, with respect and gratitude, honours the memory of the former President of the Republic of Cyprus, George Vasiliou, and acknowledges with deep appreciation his decisive contribution to the establishment of our Institute, with the aim of providing high-quality healthcare services, research and education in Cyprus. Today, beyond our farewell message, we feel the need to extend our heartfelt thanks to the late George Vasiliou for his steadfast support in laying the foundations of CING — an organisation that stands as a point of reference in research, education and the provision of specialised healthcare services. His belief in the power of science and knowledge, as well as his contribution to the creation and strengthening of research and healthcare institutions in Cyprus, remain a valuable legacy. We once again extend our sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. May his memory be eternal.

Ο Γιώργος Βασιλείου υπηρέτησε την Κύπρο με όραμα, ακεραιότητα και αφοσίωση, αφήνοντας ανεξίτηλο αποτύπωμα στη σύγχρονη πολιτική ιστορία του τόπου.
