Technology making waves! 🌊 Six of our cranes are being used in the construction of the Norwegian Ocean Technology Centre in Trondheim – one of the most modern research centres for maritime technologies worldwide: four 280 EC-H 12 Litronic, one 280 EC-H 16 Litronic and one 81 K.1 fast-erecting crane. They are performing complex lifting tasks in close proximity to the coast, from concreting and steel construction to the assembly of large-format building elements. How? That's called #teamwork💪 Concentrated Liebherr power in action in Obertauern (Austria) ⛰️ The underground car park at the Hotel Almschlössl was expanded under enormous time pressure. Our TA 230 Litronic, R 938 and R 926 Compact Litronic, as well as the L 556 XPower, were in full operation from June to December alongside our 81K.1 and 172 EC-B cranes. Sophie Albrecht receives the French National Order of Merit 🤝 We are delighted to inform you that Sophie Albrecht, a member of the administrative board of the Liebherr Group, has been awarded the ‘Médaille de l‘Ordre National du Mérite’ (French National Order of Merit). She accepted the award at our site in Colmar, standing in front of an R 9600 mining excavator, in the presence of members of the Liebherr family, managing directors of our companies in France, directors of the Group, and employees of the plant. The French National Order of Merit is awarded to people who demonstrate outstanding commitment and responsibility in the service of the nation and who make a lasting contribution to society. The Alsatian politician Brigitte Klinkert presented Sophie Albrecht with the blue-ribboned National Order of Merit and, in her address, praised Sophie Albrecht’s commitment to industry in France and, in particular, in Alsace. High up at around 1,700 m – technology meets challenge ⛰️ A technical masterpiece is being created at the Limberg Dam in Kaprun (Austria): the dam wall is being raised, thereby expanding its storage capacity. Access to the construction site is via an extremely narrow tunnel system with little room for the large mobile crane. The assembly? Due to the confined space, the boom had to be assembled in individual parts. Three Liebherr cranes are being used: the 42 KR.1 on crawler tracks and two 520 EC-B Fibre cranes with our innovative fiber rope. One is operated stationary, one is rail-mounted on a track gauge of only 4.6 m. The customer's requirement was to provide a crane that could move almost 16 t at a 30 m radius. In high alpine terrain, the 20-t machine can withstand wind speeds of up to 220 km/h (when not in operation).
