Great changes can make great difference - that's why we are currently working on the certification for AeroSHARK on the A330ceo, the first Airbus to benefit from the drag-reducing riblet film developed with BASF Coatings. With around 1,000 A330s in service globally, the potential for operational cost savings and environmental impact is enormous. And just like with the Boeing 777, long-haul operators can expect fuel savings of around 1% per flight - thanks to optimized aerodynamics during cruise. 👉 Swipe through the visual to learn more! #LufthansaTechnik #MROexperts #keepyouflying

Boeing and Lufthansa Technik Defense today signed a multi-year contract on comprehensive technical sustainment services for the growing fleet of the German Navy’s eight P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, the first of which was delivered earlier this month. The agreed work scope will include nearly all our product segments: from aircraft maintenance and engine support services via component supply to operations management and technical training. Our decades of experience in maintaining the Boeing 737 – the technical basis for the P-8A Poseidon – allow us to support the German Navy with a nearly unrivalled expertise for this aircraft type. “This new contract expands our military MRO portfolio to include its first weapon-bearing aircraft system and further strengthens its long-standing and trusted partnership with the German Armed Forces,” said Michael von Puttkamer, our VP Special Aircraft Services & Defense. “The company plays a vital role in ensuring the operational readiness of this new weapon system and, in the spirit of Germany’s “Zeitenwende” [turning point] in security policy, contributes to the strengthening of national defense capabilities.” We will provide the Navy with comprehensive Aircraft Maintenance Services right from the start of the German P-8A operations. The company’s headquarters in Hamburg will become a mainstay for both Line Maintenance (in-service checks) and Base Maintenance Services (heavy airframe and system checks) on the Poseidon. To ensure the reliable supply of spare parts, even in times of challenged global supply chains, we will provide the German Navy’s P-8A operations with Total Component Support giving access to our dedicated pool of P-8 commercial spare parts. To maximize both efficiency and time-on-wing of the P-8A’s engines, especially in their usually rough operating environment flying over salt water, we will also conduct a dedicated Engine Condition Monitoring. With this agreement, Germany is Lufthansa Technik Defense’s third P-8 customer, after New Zealand and India. #LufthansaTechnik #wirsindmarine #keepyouflying

Strong partnership for great ambitions: We signed our third contract today at Dubai Airshow with Riyadh Air | طيران الرياض, the ambitious new national carrier founded in line with the Kingdom of Saudia Arabia’s Vision 2030. Through a ten-year Total Component Support (TCS) agreement, we will support Riyadh Air’s growing Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fleet as operations commence. With this partnership, Riyadh Air benefits from 24/7/365 access to our global spare parts pool network, maximizing component availability and securing cost advantages compared to traditional in-house provisioning. We are providing component MRO services in an open-loop exchange setup as well as rapid AOG (Aircraft On Ground) support, guaranteeing swift reaction times and dedicated logistics for time-critical components. The agreement took effect with the entry-into-service of Riyadh Air’s first 787 in October. As a digital native airline, Riyadh Air has also entered our Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem by adopting AMOS Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) software. With AMOS, Riyadh Air efficiently manages all technical operations, engineering, logistics, and compliance on a single, unified digital platform, seamlessly integrated within our broader MRO environment. The agreement was signed by Adam Boukadida, Chief Financial Officer of Riyadh Air, and our CFO Dr. Christian Leifeld, who is also responsible for Digital Fleet Services. “Ensuring we have a strong partner in place like Lufthansa Technik for the provisioning of spare parts is critical to our operational performance,” said Adam Boukadida. “As a start up airline, to minimize the impact of any technical issues, we need immediate access to a broad pool of aircraft components across the globe that are available 24/7 and ready for installation.” “We are delighted to accompany Riyadh Air on its impressive growth course, for which operational stability will be key. And that is exactly why we see ourselves as a strong partner, from the recent start via the upcoming ramp-up of its operations all the way on to Riyadh Air’s goal of connecting 100 global destinations by 2030,” said Dr. Christian Leifeld. This partnership began almost exactly ten years ago at the Dubai Airshow – and today, we're proud to announce its most significant expansion yet: Air Arabia has entrusted us with comprehensive engine MRO services for the CFM56-5B engines powering their 43-strong Airbus A320ceo family fleet through 2033. These engines will be serviced at our specialized workshop in Hamburg, which has already welcomed the first unit. Additionally, our colleagues from Lufthansa Technik Middle East will continue providing specialized nose radome repairs for another five years, leveraging our expertise in composite material inspection and repair from our Airframe Related Components portfolio. We’ve continuously expanded our cooperation, including granting Air Arabia access to our global aircraft parts pool through a multi-year Total Component Services contract in 2024. The addition of comprehensive engine services represents far more than a continuation – it significantly broadens our level of collaboration and opens an exciting new chapter in our partnership with Air Arabia. #LufthansaTechnik #keepyouflying #DAS25

Turning the tables of user interface integration! Next week, at the Dubai Airshow we will unveil our latest innovation: the »nice intellitable« – a groundbreaking fusion of form and function that seamlessly integrates high-definition touchscreen technology directly into a folding tray table. Building on our award-winning Hidden Touch Display technology, which earned a Red Dot Design Award earlier this year, we've miniaturized and reimagined how passengers interact with their cabin environment. The result? A smart surface that reveals intuitive controls only when needed, then disappears back into the premium haptic surface of the tray table. Key features include fully customizable surfaces (wood, carbon fiber, metal, and more), integrated flight information, moving maps, seat controls, entertainment, and a food & beverage ordering system with digital preview. At the same time, our »nice intellitable« is fluid-resistant and mechanically robust for everyday use, and offers a minimizable interface when the tray is needed for dining. This innovation is designed for VIP, business, and first-class cabins where sophistication meets functionality – eliminating bulky, outdated control interfaces in favor of seamless, intuitive technology. To experience the »nice intellitable« firsthand visit our booth 1120 at the upcoming Dubai Airshow from November 17 to 21. #LufthansaTechnik #keepyouflying
