  • Distance was announced as a launch partner in Project Orbion - a real-time 3D Digital Twin of the Earth, by AI for AI - alongside Aechelon Technology Inc., Niantic Spatial, Inc., ICEYE, and BlackSky. Distance’s role = advancing the project with next-gen 3D Lightfield Displays for mission-critical defense and aerospace. CEO Urho Konttori: “This collaboration has the potential to become the operating system for human–AI interaction, enabling intuitive decision making and making autonomous AI systems safer — under control.” This week, Distance are at DSEI UK in London, where they are showcasing their 3D Lightfield system, JetFighter HUD, and early multispectral helmet integrations.

  • DeepMind dropped Genie 3 and it's wild! Type a text prompt. Get a fully interactive, playable 3D environment. Not video generation... game worlds! With persistent physics and memory that lasts several minutes. The speed of progress here is shocking. What seemed impossible a year ago is now a working demo. This changes everything for game development, and eventually, robotics. Future robots may learn in their dreams. When AI can generate believable physical worlds faster than we can build them, the training bottleneck disappears entirely.

  • Meta's Q2 earnings showed some fascinating Reality Labs numbers yesterday. Ray-Ban Meta glasses: ~605k units sold Quest 3s: ~270k units Quest 3: ~215k units Ray-Ban Metas are now outselling VR headsets by 2:1. Glasses are the "ideal form factor for AI" because they let AI see what you see, hear what you hear, and talk to you all day. This backs up his comment from the earnings call that people without AI-enabled glasses will be "at a pretty significant cognitive disadvantage" in the future. The shift from VR-first to glasses-first is happening faster than anyone expected. Meta is continuing to make a massive bet ($4.5B this quarter) that smart glasses will replace smartphones as our primary computing interface. Early signs suggest they might be right. The question is whether they can maintain this lead as competitors enter the market.

  • Our portfolio company nunu.ai just launched Nexus. AI agents that can actually use computers, phones, and robots - just like humans do. You tell them what you want done in plain English, and they handle it. Right now they're helping game studios by automatically testing their games. No more paying people to click through tutorials for hours - the AI just does it. But these agents can control any software, so we're excited to see what comes next. Congrats to the Nunu AI team! 🔥

  • Game streaming has a fundamental problem: outdated observer tools that can't keep up with audience demands Despite massive player bases, esports continues to underperform as a media product. The viewing experience simply hasn't evolved. ZENOS Game Twins is changing that! Real-time, 1-to-1 recreations of live games inside Unreal Engine. This isn't a mod or reinterpretation - it's a live, data-driven replica that's indistinguishable from the original to viewers. This means... - Fully interactive 3D game streams that run in-browser. - Custom production environments for every broadcaster. - New in-game sponsorship opportunities. - AR/VR viewing applications. Watch their League of Legends demo - the first of many games supported!

  • Meta's Project Aria continues to push boundaries in understanding how humans interact with the world through wearable devices. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝗶𝗮'𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼, 𝘄𝗲'𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂. The latest developments show just how rapidly this field is advancing: Key Research Breakthroughs: 🤖 EgoZero Project - NYU/UC Berkeley researchers taught robots complex manipulation skills using only human demonstrations captured through Aria glasses. No robot training data required. 📖 Reading Recognition - New datasets capturing 100+ hours of real-world reading behavior, helping AI understand when and how we consume text in natural environments. 🧠 Motion Understanding - Advanced frameworks now track and interpret human movement using multimodal inputs from wearable devices. What's Next... Aria Gen 2 launches early 2026 with real-time on-device perception, upgraded sensors, and improved form factor - available to research labs worldwide. Building AI that truly understands human behaviour and spatial reasoning. The applications span from robotics to AR/VR to embodied AI. The next computing platform is being researched into existence.

  • As Europe's strategic awakening drives defence spending increases and procurement reform accelerates, we're seeing convergence between spatial computing and defence applications. From Palmer Luckey's journey from Oculus --> Anduril, to applications like mixed reality vehicle HUDs, the line between civilian and military spatial tech continues to blur. Our latest piece explores: -- How spatial technologies are transforming simulation, training & ISR -- Why startups can now enter defence through the "payload layer" -- The dual-use opportunity for founders and investors Huge thanks to Tichomir J. from Presto Ventures and Rich Warwick from Distance Technologies for their insights and collaboration on this analysis. • Impressive benchmark results from Flow Computing. They tested their PPU architecture against Apple's M4 Max and hit up to 60x performance improvements across F16, F64, and F256 workloads. Solid numbers! And they've got the video showing exactly how they got there. Still early in their development, but results like this are why we backed them. Worth checking out the video if you're curious about the technical details.
