Farewell, Dhoya! Four years went just like that - and what a ride it has been!! Dhoya has been right in the middle of so many things we’re proud of today – #water, #agriculture, #health, #semiconductors, #space, #hydrogen, #biotransition... you name it! He’s been there, connecting people, setting things up, and making sure ideas don’t just stay as ideas. What we’ll remember most is how he connected people, sparked ideas, and kept the energy high even in the toughest times. It’s been great working with someone who believed so strongly in building bridges and making things happen. Dhoya, thanks for everything – for all the guidance, for backing us as a team, and for just being you. We’ll miss you here – not just at the big conferences and missions but as you said, our little chai breaks, the random talks, and the way you’d always push us to do a little better. All the best for your next adventure and we're sure you'll do great - wherever you go, whatever you do - as always! #farewell #Thankyou #innovation #netherlands #india #NINIndia #IndoDutch Innovatie Attaché Netwerk / IAN (Netherlands Innovation Network) Netherlands Enterprise Agency Netherlands Embassy in India Consulate General of the Netherlands in Mumbai Consulate-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bengaluru Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency NBSO Network Netherlands Agricultural Network Ministry of Education, Culture and Science Juri Roerink Arun Thekkedath Aleena Joseph Dr. NAMAN AGRAWAL Nutan, PhD Sandra Kalidien NWO (Dutch Research Council) India DST Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India Department of Biotechnology Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE)
Farewell India! After almost four years my posting as Innovation Counsellor for the Ministry of Economic Affairs has come to an end. It was an honor to be part of the Netherlands-India story in a time in which we find each other closer than ever before, and in which technology has taken center stage. Whether it is in water management, agriculture and health, or in semiconductors, space technology, or artificial intelligence, our knowledge and innovation agenda is blooming and we see more and more brilliant minds meeting and getting entangled. Recently, both the energy levels and the pace have picked up, the India I look back upon is already a different one than India today. I for sure will miss my daily chai and Delhi wonders. Besides all those remarkably talented people I encountered during this journey: a big thank you to you all. In particular, thank you to the magnificent Netherlands Innovation Network India Team, I cannot wait to see your next accomplishments. I look forward to seeing, and working with, many of you LinkedIn friends in the next chapter. But before turning the page, it is time for a short time-out. Dhanyavad! 🇳🇱🤝🇮🇳 Advancing the Indo-Dutch Innovation Partnership in MedTech & Deep Tech 🌍 Last week, our team in India, along with Ewout de Wit (CG, Bengaluru) & Indrarun Harsh (NBSO India), undertook a strategic visit to Vizag — a city rapidly emerging as a hub for healthcare and deep-tech innovation. 1️⃣ Powering MedTech Innovation: AMTZ Visit Aligned with the Dutch National Technology Strategy We had the opportunity to visit the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone — India’s premier MedTech manufacturing and innovation ecosystem, home to over 160 companies and supported by 22 Government of India agencies. Recognized as a World Health Organization Centre for Health Innovation, its a global platform fostering impactful international collaborations in Medtech - aligning with the Netherlands’ National Technology Strategy, with a focus on #ImagingTechnologies, #AIDataScience. - From the MRI magnet production line & TÜV Rheinland Auditing & Certification Labs to the catheter manufacturing unit we experienced the full scale and sophistication of India’s MedTech manufacturing ecosystem. A key highlight was our engaging interaction with Dr. Jitendra Sharma, CEO & Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) alumnus, along with several startups driving MedTech innovation. 🚺 Particularly moving was witnessing India’s women’s wheelchair basketball team train using wheelchairs manufactured at AMTZ — a powerful demonstration of how technology, inclusion, and impact converge. 📘 This visit also supports our work on the Indo-Dutch Innovation-Led MedTech Report, which outlines near- and long-term collaboration opportunities for Dutch stakeholders — across government, industry, and academia in India’s dynamic medical devices landscape. A shared ambition: to combine India’s manufacturing capabilities with Dutch expertise in healthcare systems to achieve sustainable global health outcomes. 2️⃣ Visit to Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam - Here, we explored the vital role that management institutions play in shaping global innovation ecosystems. The institute’s Indo-Dutch partnership with Wageningen University & Research reflects how meaningful progress comes through collaboration. 🌱 The visit concluded with the symbolic planting of trees on the IIM-V campus, set against the stunning backdrop of the Eastern Ghats — a gesture representing our shared commitment to sustainability and long-term innovation partnerships. We remain committed to building technology bridges between India and the Netherlands — across MedTech, deep-tech, and beyond — guided by shared strengths and a forward-looking innovation agenda. #NetherlandsInIndia #NationalTechnologyStrategy #IndoDutchPartnership #MedTechInnovation #DeepTech #AI #Biotech #ImagingTechnologies #InclusiveInnovation #HealthcareManufacturing #AMTZ #VUAmsterdam #IIMVisakhapatnam #GlobalHealthcare Netherlands Embassy in India | Consulate-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bengaluru | Dhoya Snijders | Nutan, PhD
