What does it take to move 29 Japanese investors across Lagos in 10 days without a single delay? That was the challenge I faced as Logistics Lead for Pitch2Win 5 and IVS Africa Extreme Tour (July 23rd – August 2nd, 2025). This experience brought together founders, investors, and partners from Africa and beyond — and behind every highlight was a complex logistics machine running quietly in the background. From welcoming guests with traditional dancers at the International Airport, to facilitating founder sessions, multi-stop cultural tours, and finally the main Pitch2Win 5 event at Eko Hotel, every single day demanded precision. I managed: Daily availability of Prado Jeep, Coaster, and Hiace buses. Police escorts and extra security protocols on key days. Dozens of airport pickups and drop-offs, including 20 departures in one day. Zero stranded guests, zero missed pickups, seamless transitions. Reflection: Handling logistics for 29 international guests feels like hosting a major football tournament: success depends on every moving part working in sync. One missed pickup can ripple into a delayed pitch or frustrated investor. Just like in sports, logistics is about discipline, precision, and strategy. And one lesson stood out clearly: If logistics fail, 50% of the event has already failed. I’m grateful to the TechCircle and collaborators who trusted me with this responsibility. The sleepless nights, traffic reroutes, and security planning were all worth it when I saw founders pitch, investors connect, and culture meet innovation seamlessly. I attended Pitch2Win 5 organised by techcircle, an experience that went far beyond a pitch competition. Over 1,300 startups applied, with only a few selected to step on stage and share their vision with a room full of founders, operators, and investors.
