Balancing bird safety and offshore wind operations!   We are excited to provide an update on BirdSafe: Better Integrated Response for Diminishing Strikes in Offshore Wind Flight Environments, an ambitious research initiative designed to balance bird safety, energy security, and operational costs at sea.   This autumn, 68 night-vision cameras were installed at the Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) wind farm, alongside data from Gemini wind park. We focused on critical bird migration periods, particularly for songbirds, when collision risks are at their peak.   The collected data will enhance predictive models of bird flight and collision risk - guiding smarter, practical curtailment strategies that respect ecology, economy, and energy demand. These solutions will be shaped in close collaboration with NGOs, government bodies, TenneT, and wind farm operators.   Proud to collaborate with: Equinor, Gemini Wind Park, Robin Radar Systems, SSE Renewables, TNO, Vattenfall, Wageningen University & Research, and the University of Amsterdam. Føn Energy Services awarded one of the largest O&M contracts for BoP globally in 2025!   We are proud to announce that Eneco, together with the owners of six Dutch offshore wind farms, including Shell and Ecowende, has awarded Føn with a five-year contract covering above-water Balance of Plant (BoP) IRM services and subsea ROV surveys across a combined 303 wind turbines.   The portfolio includes the following assets: - Borssele 3&4 (Blauwwind) - Borssele 5 (Two Towers) - Eneco Luchterduinen - Hollandse Kust Noord (CrossWindHKN) - Hollandse Kust West VI (Ecowende) - Prinses Amaliawindpark (Eneco)   As operator and customer, Eneco led a combined tender for all six assets. By aggregating the scope across multiple wind farms, Eneco and the owners unlocked significant efficiency gains, reduced complexity, and improved planning.   “We are grateful for the trust Eneco, and the wind farm owners have placed in us. Connecting with customers and partners – and showcasing the future of autonomous offshore lifting!   Føn Energy Services is proud to be one of the main exhibitors at Offshore Vedlikehold og Modifikasjoner 2025, taking place 26–27 November at Clarion Hotel Energy, Stavanger.   Visit us at stand no. 1, where we’ll present the Themis Auto-hook System: a full-scale autonomous lifting technology developed together with Aker BP and Aker Solutions, soon to be deployed on Yggdrasil.   The system enables hands-free hose handling between platform and supply vessel, significantly improving safety and operational efficiency offshore. Great first day at Offshore Wind Poland! Our opening day at the PSEW Offshore Conference in Warsaw has reinforced why Poland is becoming one of the most important offshore wind markets in Europe.
