We are very proud to share that Navantia Australia Senior Mechanical Engineer, Nimish Thomas, was named as the Australian Industry & Defence Network (AIDN) Victoria Young Achiever of the Year. Nimish is an integral part of the Navantia Australia team, balancing a full-time career with his position in the Army Reserves. During the SEA4000 Phase 6 Platform System Design program, he served as a key member of the engineering leadership team for the mid-life upgrade of the Hobart-class destroyers. His contributions to SEA4000 Phase 6 were not only technically sound but also strengthened collaboration and efficiency through improved systems and processes. We are incredibly proud of Nimish for being recognised by the wider industry and thank AIDN for this acknowledgement.

Thank you to everyone who came and spoke to our Navantia Australia team at Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition 2025. This year, we were proud to share our latest innovations in the autonomous and digital technology spaces, and many productive conversations with Defence personnel, industry partners, and the public came about from our on-stand demonstrations. Our Managing Director, Israel Lozano, had the chance to speak alongside distinguished panelists on the highly important topic of Sustaining our Future Fleet, an ever-important area of Australia’s Defence Industrial focus. We also were glad to welcome the Australian Defence Magazine Women’s Walk Around to our stand, where we were able to share our knowledge with women entering or interested in the Defence Industry. We hope that everyone got a chance to come by our stand, and we are looking forward to Indo Pacific 2027! #defenceindustry #sovereigncapability #navalshipbuilding #sustainment #indopacific #womenindefence

Today we pause to honour the bravery and sacrifice of all who served in the defence of our nations; those who never returned, those who came home forever changed, and those who continue to serve today. For us at Navantia Australia, Remembrance Day holds a special significance. Our work is closely tied to the defence of our nation. Each vessel we support acts as a symbol of hope, protection, and resilience. We pay our respects to the sailors, soldiers, aviators, and nurses whose courage helped shape the course of history. Their legacy is not just found in history books, but in the values we uphold every day. We will remember them. #rememberanceday #defenceindustry
