IFS & NEC Corporation Collaborate to Launch IFS Cloud Kaname to Enable Transformation and Growth in Asset-Intensive Industries
IFS and NEC today announced a strategic, multi-year agreement to jointly launch and operate IFS Cloud Kaname.
IFS Cloud Kaname is a managed cloud service designed to enable customers and partners in Japan to provide frictionless IFS Cloud solutions to the Japanese market—including ERP, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Field Service Management (FSM), and Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM).IFS Cloud Kename is purpose-built, highly secure, and a fully Japan-based and Japan-operated infrastructure. The service provides full control over data residency and governance, while ensuring regulatory compliance.
IFS Cloud Kaname will serve as the operational backbone for IFS’s approach to “physical AI”—connecting real-world assets, technicians, and workflows so that AI and automation can move beyond incremental efficiency gains and deliver measurable business outcomes.
By combining NEC’s trusted local capabilities with IFS’s applied Industrial AI embedded within IFS Cloud, this partnership will help accelerate digital transformation and deliver meaningful value in real-world operational environments.
Today’s partnership signing ceremony in Tokyo, attended by NEC CEO Takayuki Morita and IFS CEO Mark Moffat, marks an important milestone in the shared commitment to long-term collaboration between the two companies, mutual trust, and strive for innovation— and ultimately supporting Japan’s industrial future for the years to come.
