The energy autopilot for industries

Om oss

Energy used to be simple, predictable and passive. Now volatility is the new normal. The era where industries could expect low and predictable electricity prices belongs to the past. Going forward, industries will be required to predict and control their electricity consumption on an increasingly granular level. Those who have the willingness and capabilities to adopt their consumption to local constraints in grid and production will have the opportunity to generate significant additional earnings and savings. Skye is the energy autopilot for industries – enabling active and intelligent participation in the electricity market, leveraging what they already have: their electrical assets.

🏭There is a new layer of #industrial #competitiveness ⚡️It used to be about #scale -> larger operation to decrease unit cost. 🔋Then energy #efficiency -> maintaining output with less energy consumption. 🏗️And now, the 3rd layer- #industrial #flexibility-> adapting production to external constraints & market signals. We’ve just published new insight from factory floors in #signals#, showcasing that #industrial #flexibility actually works, and that it can significantly strengthen competitiveness in energy intensive industries. In the article we reveal the true results from our partnerships with one of Sweden’s largest greenhouses; how our customer achieved an 82% #reduction in #electricity #costs, over the summer of 2025, cutting the effective power price from 47 öre/kWh to just 9 öre/kWh by working with Skye. Read more on how Skye enable the 3rd layer of competitiveness for European industries  - link in the comments below! #Flexibility #EnergyTech #Electrification #EnergyTransition

WE ARE LAUNCHING #SIGNALS ☎️- Insight calls from factory floors & energy markets In our first post: When the energy system is being redesigned- how is industries affected? Most industrial operations still treat electricity as an uncontrollable cost under the responsibility of the purchasing department. We think that is a mistake. Companies that act now can build an competitive edge from the inside out by treating energy as a dynamic, steerable resource. But that shift needs to start from the top 🔝 Check out our full blog post (link in the comments)👇

As the grid adapts to more intermittent renewables, electrification, and new ways of optimizing transmission capacity, balancing cost in mid- and southern parts of Sweden is soaring. In a recent column for the business magazine Affärsvärlden, Associate Professor Mats Nilsson argued that Sweden isn’t ready for a local grid balancing process. We take a different view. The challenge isn’t technical readiness, it’s regulatory design. In our deep-dive response, we show how outdated roles and misaligned incentives are preventing capable resources from participating when they are needed most. Two Key Obstacles: ▪️ No Independent BSP Role – Companies with balancing capabilities must currently also act as Balance Responsible Parties (BRPs), a misaligned requirement that increases barriers for market participation from already existing and cost-effective resources. ▪️ Misaligned Power Tariffs – A myriad of local power tariff structures raise costs for activation and penalize flexibility even when the grid isn’t under stress. Proposed Solutions to rapidly scale participation from cost-effective resources and reduce systemic costs: ▪️ Accelerate the development of a fully independent BSP role. ▪️ Ensure better coordination between TSO and DSO on tariffs and incentives for the desired behavior. 💡 The capacity is there. The technology is there. Now it’s about ensuring that existing electrical resources can access the market. 📄 Want to read our full perspective?
