Great reflections from Ryan Chung following our recent attendance at the #ISPEAnnual2025 conference!
✨ Just over a week ago, I had the privilege of representing LCP Health Analytics at #ISPEAnnual2025, where I presented three posters showcasing our recent work in health analytics and pharmacoepidemiology. 🌟 One of these, "A Fully Automated AI-Enabled Pipeline for Extracting Kaplan-Meier Survival Data from Scientific Plots", was selected as a spotlight poster and received a Best Poster Award in its category. The project demonstrated how AI-driven computer vision can automate plot digitisation with accuracy approaching manual methods, unlocking new possibilities for large-scale evidence synthesis. 📑 I also had the pleasure of presenting two other posters on behalf of colleagues: - "Prevalence of Drug-Gene Interactions Following Acute Myocardial Infarction", highlighting opportunities for medicines optimisation through pharmacogenomics. - "Comparison of Primary Care Coded Prevalence of Atrial Fibrillation and Prescribing Rates for Drugs Indicated for Atrial Fibrillation Identified using a Large-Language Model" - a proof-of-concept study using AI to align prescribing rates with disease prevalence across England. 🎤 Another highlight of the event was seeing my colleague Ben Bray, Evidence Generation Lead at LCP, deliver a thought-provoking talk and contribute to a lively panel discussion on AI in pharmacoepidemiology, a topic that continues to spark important conversations. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our posters and joined the discussions. Looking forward to continuing the momentum!
