What an incredible year for business writing. Congratulations to Stephen Witt on winning the Financial Times & Schroders Business Book of the Year Award for The Thinking Machine, sharing insights into the rise of NVIDIA, the company at the heart of the AI boom, and its visionary CEO, Jensen Huang.   We are proud to have supported this celebration of world-class business books. Thank you to all the shortlisted authors for your contributions and for providing such compelling perspectives on today's business landscape. #BBYA25 #BusinessBooks #Schroders

  • Schroders Capital, our specialist private markets business, is a growth engine for the Schroders Group as a whole and an important part of our long-term growth story. Part of what gives us an edge is our ability to draw on leading investment capabilities across both public and private markets. This breadth and depth means we can build distinctive solutions to address complex challenges for our clients. To focus on the growth potential of Schroders Capital, we held an investor day for institutional investors and sell-side analysts. At Schroders Capital, we’re building on our specialist mid-market expertise in attractive and high-growth private market themes and segments to drive our next phase of growth. That was the message delivered by Georg Wunderlin, CEO of Schroders Capital, who presented an update on our business at today’s 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆. He was joined by Richard Oldfield, Group CEO, and senior leaders across our asset class teams, including Rainer Ender, Global Head of Private Equity, Minal Patel, Global Head of Infrastructure, Nick Montgomery, Global Head of Real Estate, and Michelle Russell-Dowe, Co-Head of Private Debt and Credit Alternatives. The event was an opportunity to share our insights into how Schroders Capital has evolved, having doubled assets under management since 2019 and built specialist investment and solutions capabilities across all private market asset classes. Our teams also looked ahead to how we will deliver our ambitious plans for future growth, and the themes that will shape private markets in the years ahead. • 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵: Leveraging our presence and scale, innovating in areas of growing demand such as wealth and DC pensions, activating our specialist private markets fundraising team, and harnessing the power of the Schroders Group. • 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆: We are a go-to partner with deep heritage in small and mid-market buyouts, a leader in wealth solutions, and offer differentiated access points, including via co-investments and continuation investments. • 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: We are a true leader in energy transition infrastructure, as the second largest dedicated investor in this key thematic globally providing opportunities across the risk-return spectrum. • 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲: We have a 50-year heritage in real estate, with a diversified Core+ platform and specialisms in key themes benefitting from structural tailwinds, including in hospitality, living, industrials and logistics segments. • 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀: We have a global platform with a pioneering track record that enables us to access inefficiencies and opportunities across asset-based finance, secured direct lending and targeted credit alternatives. “Schroders Capital is rightly positioned,” said Georg. “We are diversified, solutions capable, and our specialist thematics sit right at the heart of some of the most important industry trends.” Marketing material for professional clients only. What do markets hold for 2026? If I take one key message from Schroders 2026 Outlooks – thanks to Johanna Kyrklund, Alex Tedder, Julien Houdain, PhD and Nils Rode – it’s that investors should be confident and deliberate. Selectivity matters. Sky high valuations is the big risk that everyone’s talking about, but not the only risk. To safeguard and grow your assets in 2026, you’ll need to understand your exposures and actively manage them. It’s right down to the specific asset. Know what you’re owning, and why you’re owning it.

12 months, 12 photos. A year ago, I took up the role of Group CEO at Schroders. This week, I'm in Zurich and I'm reminded of a commitment I made when I started, to prioritise clients above everything. The clients I’m spending time with here perfectly represent the type of complex global businesses we partner with to create bespoke solutions. We pride ourselves on enabling them to offer their own global wealth clients an edge, by weaving together a unique combination of truly world-class investment capabilities. As I write this, there are 33 business days until the end of the year. We are laser-focused on making every single one of them count. But as I pause to look back at the past year, I'm proud of what we've achieved. At times it's been challenging. But whenever I meet all our clients, I'm reminded of why I love this job, and why it's such a privilege to lead this great company.

This morning, at 11am, employees in our UK offices held two-minutes' silence to honour the sacrifice of those who have served to defend our freedom. Schroders' Armed Forces Network, one of our employee-led groups, also invited colleagues to join a service of remembrance at the St Alphage Ruins, close to our London Wall Place offices. Remembrance Day is such an important time across the UK and Commonwealth to recognise our service men and women, their families, and everyone who has suffered and died in conflicts since the First World War. Many Schroders employees have served in the Armed Forces over the years, including a number who sadly made the ultimate sacrifice. I am proud that we continue to support Armed Forces leavers and Reservists and hold the Employer Engagement Gold Award as part of the UK Ministry of Defence Armed Forces Covenant.
