UK SDC Associates will meet for the final time in 2025 today at the London showroom of longtime supporters, Sedus. The discussion for this meeting will revolve around solutions for reuse and asset management. Associates will be joined by Michelle French, co-founder of CAMA AssetStore, an organisation that has developed an award winning solution for reuse and asset management within the film industry. The second of our two panels held at The Sustainable Design Forum India during Design Mumbai takes place on Friday, 28th November. Sustainability in the workplace has moved far beyond the language of “green” design, evolving into a complex, global system of innovation and accountability. This panel examines how leading practices around the world are embedding circularity, transparency, and inclusivity into the foundations of workplace design. From remanufacturing and digital product passports to open supply chains and collaborative frameworks, systemic change is reshaping how we create, deliver, and measure sustainable spaces. At the same time, the conversation increasingly recognises that human experience — neurodiversity, wellbeing, and cultural inclusivity — is inseparable from environmental performance. Drawing on global best practice, this discussion highlights the strategies, policies, and partnerships that are setting new benchmarks for sustainable workplaces worldwide. India’s design culture is deeply rooted in resourcefulness, craft, and climate-sensitive traditions. As the country rapidly urbanises and living & working spaces expand, there is an urgent opportunity to draw on this heritage to create models of sustainability that are both contemporary and contextually relevant. This panel explores how local, low-impact materials such as mud, bamboo, lime, and reclaimed wood are being reimagined for modern environments, and how vernacular wisdom can be translated into scalable, climate-responsive solutions. From integrating traditional craftsmanship into spaces to developing innovative responses to resource scarcity, India’s architects and designers are uniquely positioned to lead in sustainable design. This session showcases how a fusion of heritage, material ingenuity, and modern needs can deliver spaces that are socially, culturally, and environmentally resilient. 🗣 SDC’s speed dating event held on Wednesday 1st October at Crypt on the Green, Clerkenwell was another success. We were delighted that manufacturers, suppliers and designers joined members of SDC to share knowledge, experiences and hurdles across a range of topics. “We could’ve carried on talking for another two hours,” reported one of the participants! SDC Associates hosted 12 tables covering a range of topics including Supporting greater circularity; Understanding supply chains and adding social value; sustainability and technology; and project assessments. SDC will be hosting its main event – the SDC Forum – on Thursday 23rd April 2026. We are still in the planning stages but it’s sure to include another round of speed dating!
