In photonics, failure isn't a setback – it's a systematic tool for innovation. Bruno Romeira, research scientist at the INL - International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, articulates what might be the most important lesson in our Photonics100 career advice feature: "Treat failure as part of the process. Every dead end is a step toward something original." Leonel Malacrida (Universidad de la República and Institut Pasteur de Montevideo) goes further: "Mistakes are a natural and necessary part of any creative process.
