Today's discussions at the World Nuclear Association Energy End Users Group delved into the crucial topic of nuclear insurances for SMRs. The evolving deployment models and shifting energy use cases signal a significant departure from traditional utility and state-based grid power applications. The panel session provided valuable insights into nuclear construction insurance structuring, nuclear liability channeling, and innovative risk transfer mechanisms for the supply chain in new builds. A thought-provoking session indeed! Thank you to World Nuclear Association for the opportunity to be a part of the conversation! September 1st marks the beginning of Suicide Awareness Month. Tragically, the construction industry has one of the highest suicide rates of any sector. Each year, more than five times as many workers die by suicide over job-site accidents. Suicide is one of the top 10 leading causes of death in the U.S. and accounts for more than one in every 100 deaths globally, many of which are preventable. Recognizing the importance of collaboration within the industry to address these challenges is crucial. We are proud of our partnership with SAVE - Suicide Awareness Voices of Education to develop IBEAM, a program aimed at improving mental health outcomes for the construction workforce.
