Last week we co-hosted, together with 81 Unit Alumni Association - AMIT, the first meetup in a new series we’re launching - focused on giving future founders real insight into markets, trends, and the realities of building companies in the physical world. We also had a great conversation with ronen faier, who shared his perspective on what’s happening right now - funding conditions, global financial trends, and the differences he sees between deep-tech fundraising and software companies. We also spoke about how we work at Square One Labs Build, our program for launching deep-tech companies: partnering with founders from day one, diving into the market together, defining the real problem worth solving, and building companies that matter in Energy and Physical AI. Earlier this week, we celebrated a major milestone — a decade of the SCOLA - Startup Comprehensive Learning program. All 10 cohorts came together on the beautiful WeWork rooftop, reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new people, all while enjoying great food and fine wine. Ten years ago, Rotem Eldar, Tal Slobodkin, Yonatan Horovitz, and Liron Fogler Mendelson launched the first Scola cohort. Since then, 81 Unit Alumni Association - AMIT led by Chen Kamin, Nir Peleg and Javier Shocron, along with its partners Herzog, EY, Lightspeed, LeumiTech, IBI CAPITAL ,WeWork, and Meirovitch Public Relations, have continued to grow and enhance the program. Two years ago, I had the privilege of joining this incredible team as Scola’s manager, helping to take the program to new heights. After 10 cohorts, we’ve built a strong community of talented and driven entrepreneurs committed to creating impactful and successful ventures. I’m excited to see how we’ll continue to innovate, build, and deliver remarkable startups in the years ahead. Last Friday, I had the incredible opportunity for the second time, with a brand-new cohort, to conduct a lecture and workshop on GenAI for the non-profit organization Tofsim Kivun – תופסים כיוון, in collaboration with the 81 Unit Alumni Association - AMIT and the Tel Aviv-Yafo Youth Unit. During the session, I explored the power tools of GenAI, demonstrating how this technology can help individuals advance their careers while also highlighting the risks and responsibilities associated with AI. Thank you to everyone who supported this event, especially the amazing participants.
