  • We are proud to introduce our 2026-2028 administrative fellows: Rieley Snyder and Kwaku Asante Frempong-Manso. Read from each of them below to see why they pursued AHN fellowships. Congratulations! - Rieley Snyder: "I chose to pursue an administrative fellowship with AHN because of the organization’s strong values and meaningful impact within the community. As someone who is deeply passionate about expanding access to high-quality, personalized care, I believe AHN embodies the mission and commitment I aspire to be a part of. I couldn't imagine a better place to grow professionally while contributing to meaningful change in healthcare!" - Kwaku Frempong-Manso: "My decision to pursue a fellowship with Allegheny Health Network came from both heart and purpose. Being from Pittsburgh, I wanted to contribute to the community that shaped me. From the start, I felt a strong sense of culture, leadership, and mentorship within AHN; these qualities align closely with my values and aspirations for growth as a healthcare leader."

  • We’re proud to share that AHN Allegheny General Hospital is the first in Pennsylvania to participate in the international RESPONDER-HF trial to help patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fracture (HFpEF). The condition, which occurs when certain heart muscles are too stiff to properly move blood through the body, now accounts for over half of all heart failure diagnoses and is known to be resistant to current available treatments. Led by Dr. Kassis-George, the study involves placing a small shunt between the upper two chambers of the heart to relieve pressure and improve symptoms such as fatigue and shortness of breath. We’re proud of our Cardiovascular Institute’s commitment to advancing therapies for patients whose treatment options may be limited.
