What a rewarding day attending the Grand Rounds at the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry, highlighting a rewarding initiative: the Eric D. Hadar Distinguished Lecture, supported through the Eric D. Hadar Family Foundation’s $2 million commitment to the Division on Substance Abuse. This gift established an endowed lecture series valued at $750,000 to foster meaningful dialogue and disseminate the latest insights on substance use disorders. It also created the Eric D. Hadar Research Fund, which supports fellowships, faculty, and critical research infrastructure. This year's lecture, “Gender Difference in Substance Use Disorders: Findings From the MUSC Center of Excellence,” presented by Dr. Kathleen T. Brady, was an exceptional example of the thoughtful, evidence-based work this series aims to elevate.
