We are grateful for our friends at Republic Services who chose to serve on MLK Day and truly embody its spirit of service. Your team understands the importance of food security and the real impact it has on our neighbors and families when those basic needs aren’t met. Thank you for showing up for our community and for serving them with dignity, compassion, and respect. Together, we help create a stronger, more caring community for all. 💚
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. asked, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” In honor of MLK Day, our team here at Republic Services Washington, D.C. spent four hours volunteering with Bread for the City and in that time, we served 170 families. That number matters because food insecurity isn’t theoretical. These are real families, that have to make real choices, that have real needs. The team at Bread for the City answers the call to aid these families with their needs every day by providing food, clothing, medical care, and legal support restoring dignity while building stability for our neighbors across D.C. Serving alongside their team was grounding and humbling. It was a reminder of how much impact is possible when people show up with intent and purpose. A sincere thank you to our Tenlytown Ops clerk Ms Coleman for connecting us with this incredible organization, and to operations manager Mario White for championing the importance of serving this community. #RepublicServices
