This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to work on characterizing 4CL genes involved in lignin biosynthesis in poplar at Brookhaven National Laboratory through the Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI). Through this experience, I strengthened my skills in key molecular biology and analytical techniques, including: 🧬 Molecular Biology & Cloning 🌿 Plant Transformation & Handling of Transgenic Plants 📊 Metabolite Analysis with LC-MS 🔬 Cell Imaging & Transient Expression Assays This opportunity strengthened my practical skills while inspiring an even greater passion for biology and a continued commitment to research. I’m grateful to Chang-Jun Liu for the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research at BNL, and to Vijaya Kumar Reddy Vulavala for their invaluable mentorship throughout the project. Excited to keep learning and growing in this field!
